footprints

We had big plans for our huge weed-filled backyard this summer, but time has been slipping through our finger tips and we haven't done much. (more yard means more yard work...right? - Maybe that is why we are hesitating). We did manage however to lay some cement for a back patio and while it was still wet we let the bubbster make his mark with his tiny feet. He thought it was pretty funny. We enjoyed ourselves too-He's got some pretty cute and ticklish bubble toes.
Time to wash off all that cement!

four months

Calvin Jacob is 4 months! I can't believe how fast this boy is growing. I know every parent says that... but it is true! He is getting so big! He is such a flirt and smiles at everyone. We adore him to pieces and of course can't imagine life without him! I remember thinking how far away July sounded those first few nights home from the hospital, but these last few months have honestly just flown by. Although the sleeping situation hasn't gotten much better I wouldn't trade my life for anything. I knew I always wanted to be a mom and although I didn't expect it to be this hard, I also didn't think it would be this much fun either. I love my family.

At four months Calvin is rolling over, playing with toys, and has the cutest laugh and chuckle. When he laughs so hard he usually gets the hiccups. He has such a sweet spirit and a tender heart. He is a little social butterfly and loves people. He mimics your face and if you look at him with a worried expression he looks right back at you concerned. It is so darling. I just stare at this cute kid every day and wonder how I got so lucky. He is such a miracle in our lives. I am truly blessed.

summer lovin'

We have sure enjoyed summer thus far..especially this last week. Nate, my oldest brother and all his family was in town from Cincinnati and while they were here we partied nonstop every day! We enjoyed barbeques, keeping cool at the pool, evening fire roasts, four-wheeling, birthday parties, water fights, and my mom even did a fishpond for the grandkids-which pretty much turned into Christmas in July!
We also took Calvin on his very first hike. We went with the whole family up to Big Springs in South Fork. Cal loved every minute of it. He is such a happy baby.
Towards the end it began raining and got a little chilly. . . . . but it didn't bother Cal one bit. . . .  in fact he took a nap. :)
For the 4th Jake spent a good part of the day working on his family cabin while I hit up some family parties. We topped our night off with good ol' PG fireworks. I was a little concerned about the loud noise, but the rockets red glare put little Calvin to sleep.

Cal was showered with attention from his cousins!
