Lake Powell

Last weekend we went to Lake Powell and took the bubby on his very first vacation. He did awesome! It was a short trip with my family that we decided to go on last minute. Fortunately for us, the week before we left the houseboat broke down leaving us to stay in hotels instead. We figured that a hotel would be a better place for a little 2 1/2 month old to hang out instead of a hot houseboat.

We had such a great time! We drove a  total of 12 hours over a 4 day span, and we are pretty sure Calvin is beginning to think his car seat is his home...but he did extremely well and didn't have a single meltdown the entire trip.

This trip to Powell was different than many of our others since we didn't get as much time wake boarding, tubing, and sun bathing, but it was still fun to introduce Calvin to one of our favorite places (and where his mommy and daddy got engaged 4 years ago!!)...crazy how fast time flies...

happenings in the hoyt household

Here in the Hoyt Household we have all taken turns being sick and we are hoping we can avoid antibiotics for a long time! Other than all of the trips we've taken to the doctor and pediatrician we have enjoyed all the fun things that come along with Spring. Calvin is growing bigger every day and we are completely smitten with that cute boy! We love his smiles and coos. He is such a joy and we are learning so much daily.

Calvin Jacob Hoyt

I went into labor the night before I was to be induced and 24 hours later on March 16, 2012 at 5:56 pm our little baby Calvin was born weighing 8 lbs. 4 oz. The entire 'birth experience' was so incredible and spiritual.

I can't believe it has been 4 weeks! Seriously, I am pretty sure time stopped back in March. Jake and I have had four of the funnest, most rewarding, memorable, and physically/emotionally exhausting days of our lives. Calvin has a fun personality. He lives life with a rockstar mentality-sleep all day, party all night. . . . .

He is our little all-star and we love him very much! We feel so blessed to have him in our family!



wedding and a baby...

well, not quite a baby yet...but only a few more weeks to go!!

My older brother Andy and and his new wife Bethany got married last week and we are so happy for them! As for the bride-not only do we share the same name, we also studied abroad together in London years ago... 

...and I am so excited for her to join our family! They make a darling couple and we loved celebrating with them on their big day!

christmas weekend!

If I had to pick one word that described our Christmas this year, it would have to be. . . . .. Ping-Pong.

Not just because we always play it on Christmas eve at Jake's grandmas house, but because we went back and forth between my family and Jake's family like a ping pong ball.  Our "weekend schedule" sent us back and forth between parties and it was great! We finally got around to opening our own gifts to each other late Christmas night. It will be hard to top this memorable Christmas-next year better watch out!
